CB tabs not getting listed in CB Profile Pro Registration screen

Hi All,

If some one has faced similar issue then please share your inputs.  I am using Joomla 3.0, CB Pro 1.9 and CB Profile Pro.

I have defined some new tabs under CB Tabs but I cannot see those tabs in the CB Profiler Pro "registration page". There is a note mentioned that "not all listed CB tabs may appear on registration page". Is this a restriction which can be overcome or is a limitation?

Moreover if I select existing tab such as "Profile Pro" or any any other listed tab (which is enabled), I get the following error on the registration page. Is this bug in CB Profile PRO.

Example, i picked below for registration page

{object Profile Pro}

message displayed on screen: 'Profile Pro' not found.

From 2 days I am stuck in it and not able to proceed. I have followed the installation instruction.  I am looking out for solution and raised a support ticket to yesterday.

Thanks,

Amit Dangwal

Hello Amit,

Thank you for your question. Profile Pro can't insert CB tabs on registration or profile edit page. It is not a limitation, but it is the way it works. On registration and profile edit pages you need to insert CB fields separately, one by one.

Besides usual CB tabs (containing CB fields), which can not be added on registration, there are specific CB tabs, like AcyMailing subscription or CB Captcha, which can be inserted on registration by Profile Pro. Magic Window on screenshot you've provided shows a list of your CB tabs, but only some of them could be displayed on registration and others will get  message like "''Profile Pro' not found".

Hi Den,

Thanks for the update. As per the business scenario I have, the registration page has to provide step by step registration similar to CB Pro. Thats why I created tabs as per the requirement and looking for there integration with CB PRofile PRO to include those tabs.

If user defined Tabs cannot be integrated into CB Profile pro then I need to add the fields on the registration page but I have to present the information in step by step mode as there are almost 10 to 15 forms(tabs). SO I will be adding the fields and then I will try to group them into Pages(CB Profile Pro pages) but before I put that effort I want know

  1. Does CB Profile PRO "page" features offer step by step flow to pages based on conditional flags and does validation of fields on every page and does not allow submission until invalid data fixed?

2.It will be really great if you can pass on any documentation over how to use "Pages" ? I could not see that documentation in the downloaded CB Profile PRO deliverable.

This is what I mean by "Pages" from the jooduck page:  http://www.joomduck.com/extensions/community-builder-profile-pro

"Pages

Visually split Community Builder user profile or profile edit into pages. Pages feature unique urls and can be opened directly from an external source. The last visited page for each user profile is remembered and opened on next visit.

Page navigation titles can include dynamical content, such as CB field value."

Thanks

Please describe in more details scenario with conditional flags, so that I could give an exact answer on this. Regarding the validation, yes, Profile Pro does the validation of the fields  on each page when the next button is clicked and doesn't let proceed further till all have valid data filled in. Please check the demo.

Please check the file attached to this comments with detailed instructions on how to use Pages function. It's really very easy.

Thanks Den. I am checking this up.

Regarding the conditional fields, Conditional fields are based on profile. If profile type is X then there are certain steps and if profile type is Y then there are 10 different steps to be followed which some or all are required based on profile type selected for registration. As of now the fields are not finalized but it has a very complex workflow. I am going through the demo link you have given and the pdf.

Thanks,

Amit

Den, Can I have similar pdf for other fetaures by CB Profile Pro such as code, show hide content, module/model etc. That might be helpful for me to see how different features can help me achieve complex workflows.

Den,

Regarding conditional flow, in simple terms can I disable/enable a "page" based on conditions. For example, in a student registration workflow there are 10 different steps(pages). First 5 steps/pages can be filled by student initialy and submitted for registration. Once the administrator approves the data collected from first 5 steps, next 5 steps to be filled.by student and first 5 steps are non editable but readonly. If read only cannot be made then can they be made hidden ? Is such scenario of making pages visible conditionaly / read only possible with CB Profile Pro?

Amit,

Profile Pro can create absolutely different registration pages for different profile types, with different fields and registration steps. When a user selects a profile type during registration - he'll be forwarded to the corresponding registration.

Regarding the scenario in your last comment, it can be done. I guess it could be possible to make student fill the first 5 steps on registration, then after he registers and admin approves his account, student logs in and fills the last 5 steps on profile edit. But in this case profile edit page won't provide with fields validation and prev/next buttons for the pages (steps).

We will soon publish instructions for each feature when they are ready, and you'll be able to read them from our website.
